On the island


I'm in Guantanamo now for Omar Khadr's case scheduled in the courts tomorrow- a first since Obama has taken office as President. I'll be posting sketches. Not sure how many; session will likely be very short. Stay tuned..

Figuratively, traditionally, and digitally



Here's another example of a digitally painted portrait, using a basic charcoal line drawing and adding layers in Photoshop. I've got an archived series in this blog on the whole process- look for 'digital deliciousness' if you are curious. This other is just a warm-up from my last figure drawing session that had a little movement to it.

I hauled out the pastels and totally tightened up; notice the difference between my looser gestural sketches and the ones with color. I'm going to keep pushing through the dust and have fun while doing it.

I've been finishing up with my online students- finals- so have not been quite up-to-date with my postings. It's already Thursday and I'll be doing a new session tonight- how quickly time passes. Here are my studies from last week.
