Session 6- figure drawing at the Hopper House

Last night's model was Lalainya, who is truly a fabulous figure drawing model. We had a great turnout and I played around with a little reflected light on brown paper; gearing up for some upcoming court drawing work. Tgif and thanks for stopping by!

Session five

Here's some figure studies from last week's drawing session. Finding the form and trying to get the line to convey the weight and shift of the body, give it gravity, is always the goal I strive for. This particular night I was feeling a bit stiff; not 'on'- but I still enjoyed myself.

Last week's figure drawing

Last week's figure drawing from the Hopper House sessions. SO much fun, and I find myself using open edges, soft lines and simplifying the form. Drawing from life really freshens up my commercial work and keeps the draftsmanship sharp, exercising the creative muscles. I'm always glad to be doing it, and by facilitating it is doubly rewarding.
