Session three at Hopper House

Our third session was a success yet again, this time with a male model. Great to draw, and what a treat to
have the luxury of a still figure- after drawing in courtrooms one can really appreciate setups like this.
It's a win-win as I am also meeting other artists in this area. I"ll be back on track next
week. These past weeks I was caught up with pulling my business and taxes together- spring cleaning, data
style!

Hopper house figure drawing

The second figure drawing session was so much fun! There were several very different drawing styles going on, and the
time just flew. I believe I can safely say that everyone had a good time. I'm looking forward to next Thursday- a male
model, more coffee and cookies and plenty of sketching supplies!

Sketching Dr. King

I'm starting work on a new poster of Martin Luther King; here is a preliminary sketch. As the project progresses, I'll post
my work-in-progress. I've done several illustrations of MLK; my goal here is to do something new and fresh and truly
capture- or try to- his presence, impact and vision. In my lifetime, some of his dreams have come to fruition.
However, the issue of race is still in the news, which is dismaying. I hope as the world melds and progresses, that
race and gender will be past-tense, non-issues. One can hope!

A tree falls in Nyack

This tree fell three feet in FRONT of the house I'm in, ripping up half the driveway and snapping all wires. The entire neighborhood walked by to see it and all said how very lucky I am.. very. This is considered an 'Act of God' by insurance companies and therefore not covered. Luckily nothing other than cables and some driveway were hurt. But it made me think again of the folks that endured Katrina, and my incident does not even come close to their experience. Taking pause..

Ray

Here's an illustration I did of Ray Charles for the Sun-Sentinel in Florida- his state of birth. Though we'll miss him, his music lives on.

Condi's travels

I did this illo three years ago, and Condi has logged many more miles, countries and talks since then. Currently in Ramallah urging peace talks, she appears to never stop.
